Growing up, my father took the lead in our house — every morning, before anything else, we woke up to seek God first. As a kid, I hated it. I didn't want devotion, I didn't want Scripture before sunrise, I wanted sleep. It felt like one more thing standing between me and the rest of my life.
Like a lot of people, I walked away from that part of my walk for a while. Life got busy. Mornings got hijacked by everything else — the phone, the noise, the noise coming from an inbox before I'd even opened my eyes. And for a season, that felt normal.
But years later, I found my way back. And what I found surprised me. On the mornings I made space to seek Him first — before I touched my phone, before I checked email, before I got up and got ready for whatever the day demanded of me — everything felt different. Steadier. Clearer. More mine, somehow, even though it started with putting myself second. The traffic didn't change. The to-do list didn't shrink. But I did. And that changed everything else.
That's the entire reason Seek First exists. Not as a slogan on a shirt, but as a lived reminder — to me first, and now to anyone who needs it — that the day goes better when He comes before the notifications, before the noise, before the hustle even has a chance to start.
We started making shirts, mugs, and everyday pieces because we wanted that reminder to travel with us. Something you put on in the morning that quietly says: today, I'm seeking the Kingdom first. Every design begins with a verse or a truth we've actually leaned on — through hard mornings, through valleys, through the seasons where faith felt like all we had left to move mountains with. We're a small, US-based team. Every order is printed right here at home, in Florida and Texas, with care — not mass production, not a warehouse overseas we've never seen.
